From 2010 to 2016 CHR personnel carried out the following projects at one major salt-cavern hydrocarbon liquids storage and fractionation facility in Alberta.
- C5+ and C2+ cavern injection pump additions: four 1,306 kW (1,750 hp) API 610 injection pumps of up to 250 m³/h each, with 1500# ANSI (255 bar) piping, a new pump building, an MCC building and new inlet feed piping.
- Pipeline reversal booster pumps: two 1,118 kW (1,500 hp) API 610 condensate booster pumps in a new pump building with MCC, VFDs, switchgear and metering. The pipeline owner needed the boosters running on a very short timeline: CHR sourced and expedited remanufactured pump packages that were available for delivery, to meet that date.
- Deethanizer pre-FEED and FEED: one 218 m³/h (33,000 bbl/d) train with a 3 m × 36 m tower and about 3,730 kW (5,000 hp) of refrigeration compression.
- Brine system: hydraulic debottlenecking, new brine piping installed by trenchless technology so the operating facility was not disturbed during construction, a second brine disposal well and the Brine Cellar Phase II pump additions.
- Cavern and metering work: product piping and wellheads for new caverns, future tie-ins, a C2+ meter prover skid and pipe rack connections for a pipeline line fill.
- Studies and support: acid gas injection pre-FEED, flare design for a new flare pond, condensate system debottlenecking, C2+ inlet connections, the facility plot plan and the equipment list update.
